Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is currently seeking a Transportation Team Lead to support our client, GE Appliances. The Transportation Team Lead will be responsible for the overall operations and activities of the GE Appliance Park Gate team, including optimizing incoming and outgoing traffic flows by finding opportunities and executing improvements. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Monday through Friday - 7:00am to 3:00pm
  • Weekend availability as needed
  • Starting salary $50,000 per year

Job Details

What to expect as a Transportation Team Lead:

  • Execute programs to improve organization and traffic flow within the Yard.
  • Implement new processes and work with GEA and Legacy leaders to introduce new procedures as they are available.
  • Serve as the shift contact for Appliance Park relating to any trailer location/accuracy issues and TrackX Software/Hardware troubleshooting.
  • Perform Supervisor role as needed.
  • Rotate weekends on call with other supervisors.
  • Observe and learn dispatch role.
  • Responsible for development and growth of all gate admins along with training each new employee.
  • Maintain and update SOP as needed.
  • Work with team members on process improvement for any discrepancies.
  • Lead regular meetings on Gate metrics and provide status updates to management.
  • Find and escalate training opportunities and conduct training where necessary to correct issues.
  • Identify any safety related or non-compliance issues and address management as needed.
  • Fill in for absences as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in warehousing, transportation, or logistics
  • Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate across all functions to management and team.
  • Process focused and has proven record of resolving issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates clear thinking and external focus
  • Experience in developing and working from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, and Web Based applications
