Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Business Development Manager for our growing Freight Brokerage Division. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities for our North American Freight Brokerage and International Freight Forwarding Divisions. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.  

Schedule and Compensation

  • Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm
  • Starting salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year plus monthly uncapped commissions
    • Within the first year, average Business Development Managers make between 8-10% monthly in commission on monthly profits with top performers seeing up to 18%.

What to expect as a Business Development Manager:

  • Coordinate shipments between customers and carriers
  • Pursue new sales opportunities through research, analysis, and discovery
  • Build new relationships, maintain, and grow existing relationships with clients
  • Develop optimal routing and pricing solutions using multiple Rate Management Systems
  • Be the first point of contact for the clients and ensure their service expectations are met
  • Manage the day-to-day clients’ freight movements in collaboration with Operations
  • Actively participate in sales meetings and reporting on sales goals, forecasting, and wins
  • Analyze industry news and market trends

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of Transportation Brokerage Experience
  • At least 3 years of New Business Development Experience
  • Energetic, relentless, and thriving on hunting for opportunities
  • Strong sales negotiation and closing skills
  • Constructive problem solver
  • Proficient in Outlook; intermediate in Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM is an asset
