Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring experienced Class A Yard Drivers for our client, GE Appliances, working out of the Appliance Park. As a Class A Yard Driver you will be responsible for moving trailers between docks and yard locations as directed. Mandatory overtime is possible and likely. This is a direct hire full time position that offers competitive compensation with paid holidays, vacation, and 401k plan with up to a 5% company match. Class A Yard Drivers are members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 89.

Schedule and Compensation

  • 2nd and 3rd Shift available. Must be available to work weekends.
  • Starting pay is $27.00 per hour with additional $0.25 shift differential.
  • Mandatory overtime is possible and likely.

Job Details

What to expect as a Class A Yard Driver:

  • Prioritize workload to maximize trailer turnaround time, aiming for a two-hour turnaround goal.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on assigned yard trucks to ensure optimal vehicle condition and safety.
  • Efficiently move trailers between docks and yard locations as directed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Properly chock trailers for loading and unloading to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
  • Conduct pre-loading inspections of trailers to identify any damage or issues.
  • Accurately input relevant data into the Yard Management System to track trailer movement and yard operations.
  • Strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL License
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Yard Spotting experience is highly preferred
  • Minimum 18 months of verifiable work experience
  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) and background
  • Current DOT medical card, or the ability to obtain one
  • Abide by all OSHA rules, DOT regulations and Legacy Supply Chain Safety Practices
  • Abide by all rules and regulations as they pertain to the Teamsters Contract
